Arts
To the credit of the people of Edison, they have recognized that the most valuable arts resource easily within their reach is New York City. Swift, reliable transportation into the city connects the people of Edison to everything that the museums, galleries, and theaters of Manhattan can offer. Still, the Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders and Department of Parks and Recreation offer a spectacular annual season of theatrical productions through the Plays in the Park program near the Menlo Park Mall in Edison. The 2005 season, for example, included full-scale productions of Miss Saigon, Elton John and Tim Rice’s AIDA, Dreamgirls, School House Rock, and Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
