Attractions
The main cultural attractions in Edison are the Thomas A. Edison Memorial Tower and Museum. The tower was built in 1937 and dedicated in 1938 in honor of Mr. Edison’s 91st birthday. It sits at 37 Christie street on the exact site of the original Menlo Park laboratory where Mr. Edison developed more than four hundred inventions for which he received patents. The museum is nearby on Christie Street, the first street ever illuminated by electric lighting.
