Dining
With 33% of Edison’s residents foreign born, and most of those from India and other South Asian countries, it is no wonder that dining in Edison tends to be an international affair. For very upscale dining, two favorites are Louca’s on Route 27 for Italian and Moghul on Oak Tree Road for superb Indian. Makeda in nearby New Brunswick makes great Ethiopian food and the Seven Hills of Istanbul in Highland Park touts its “Mediterranean Cuisine”, but there is no doubt that the menu takes its primary inspiration from Turkish traditions. Ming on Oak Tree specializes in Far Eastern Cuisine, and there is a delightful contrast of cultures apparent in the colonial-sounding address of the region’s best Malaysian restaurant, Penang on the Old Post Road. Even with all of these adventurous dining experiences abounding, Christie’s Steakhouse on the Lincoln Highway does a good business in enjoyable American fare.
